The 6th China Japan Marine Waste Management Cooperation Expert Seminar

The 6th China Japan Marine Waste Management Cooperation Expert Seminar

Jul 02, 2025

On July 1-2, 2025, the 6th Japan China Experts Dialogue Platform Meeting on Marine Debris Cooperation and the 6th Japan China Marine Debris Workshop was successfully held in Hiroshima, Japan.

As an important exchange platform between China and Japan in the field of marine ecological protection, this conference invited relevant scientific research institutions, industry experts, and business representatives from both sides to conduct in-depth discussions on the experience and future cooperation of marine plastic pollution control.

DATABEYOND CEO Mo Zhuoya was invited to attend the conference and give a keynote speech. She introduced the shore sea linkage mechanism represented by the Zhejiang "Blue Circulation" project, as well as the new generation efficient salvage system of Junhong, which provides a stable and efficient upstream waste source and application scenario for DATABEYOND  Technology's sorting technology.

Faced with the practical problems of complex sources, diverse components, severe pollution, and difficult identification of marine plastic waste, DATABEYOND  Technology focuses on solving the problems of identification accuracy and efficiency in the context of scarce sorting data and complex environments.

She highlighted the technological breakthroughs of DATABEYOND  Technology in the following areas in her speech:

1、 An efficient intelligent visual recognition algorithm system for marine garbage is constructed, which integrates deep learning technology, and introduces distributed computing and edge computing methods to greatly improve the recognition accuracy of marine drifting garbage under complex background.

2、 DATABEYOND has independently developed an intelligent optoelectronic sorting equipment that combines AI with hyperspectral sensors, fluorescence aging sensors, and metal sensing recognition, based on typical characteristics of marine debris such as high salinity, high humidity, and attached algae.

This device has functions such as adaptive adjustment, precise identification, and automatic sorting, significantly improving the resource utilization rate of marine garbage.

3、 At the level of ocean garbage big data, DATABEYOND utilizes real machine data collected by thousands of light sorting machines deployed around the world, combined with simulation data and synthetic data, to develop a big data engine that adapts to the characteristics of ocean garbage such as multiple types, high corrosiveness, fragmentation, and aging. It provides research institutes such as Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, and the National Marine Technology Center with the necessary ocean garbage big data for research and development.

This technology sharing on the international stage is not only DATABEYOND showcasing China's intelligent sorting equipment and technology to the world, but also injecting new industrial momentum into implementing the national "high-quality development of marine economy" strategy and promoting global ocean governance cooperation.
