At 8:00 a.m. Beijing Time on October 22, Gongye Technology will launch a global live stream on Douyin and YouTube, taking viewers at home and abroad into a real municipal solid waste sorting site in Dongguan for a close-up look at Pikman, an embodied AI robot, continuously sorting waste in a complex, dirty, and unpredictable mixed municipal solid waste environment.

This is not a laboratory demonstration, but a real-world demonstration of embodied AI in action under actual working conditions.
Mixed municipal solid waste has long been one of the most complex scenarios for automated sorting: random materials, complex shapes, and harsh environments. In the past, robots have mostly served standardized, predictable scenarios. But on municipal solid waste sorting lines, the harsh environment and complex working conditions make manual sorting extremely difficult.
For the first time in the world, Gongye Technology is bringing embodied AI robots into a full-volume municipal solid waste sorting site. At the waste transfer station in Liaobu Town, Dongguan, Pikman works in coordination with an AI hyperspectral optical sorter to finely sort municipal solid waste. Pikman sorts recyclables such as PET bottles, food containers, aluminum cans, glass, and other mixed plastics, while the AI hyperspectral optical sorter sorts PE and PP films. Together, they can complete 100% automated full-volume sorting of 50 tons of municipal solid waste within 4 hours, achieving 35% reduction and 25% resource recovery.

Pikman has a maximum picking speed of 3,600 picks per hour; dual arms with 14 degrees of freedom; an IP65 protection rating; and support for stable 24/7 operation.
Live globally at 08:00 on October 22 (Beijing Time). Witness Pikman, the embodied AI waste-sorting robot, officially go on duty.
